The Sketchbook Project 2009

The following was my submission for the Art House Co-op’s “Sketchbook Project” Show:

“Confront your pain and bury old hurts.”

“Give to someone else once a day.”

“Smile at strangers and hug your friends.”

“Listen to the stories of others.”

“Buy a child a journal. Buy yourself an ice cream cone.”

“Give yourself a little time to daydream.”

“Do your work first, especially the hard part.”

“Celebrate whenever you have a reason (even if you have to make one up).”

“Forgive everyone, even yourself.”

“Stay away from people who make you cry.”

“Let yourself cry; then, let yourself heal.”

“Love completely and without remorse.”

“Remember that nothing is forever.”

“Enjoy the sun. Dance in the rain.”

“Use your quiet moments wisely.”

“Travel as much and as far as you can.”

“Make a home that you are happy to return to.”

“Stand by your beliefs firmly, but admit when you are wrong.”

“If you can’t fix it, find someone who can teach you.”

“Ask yourself “Why?”, but don’t hold your breath for an answer.”

“Have as many loves as your heart can hold.”

“Allow your heart to let go when it’s time.”

“Remember the compliments. Forget the insults.”

“Find something to believe in and become an expert in it.”

“Try something new every day.”

“Teach something new every day.”

“Save enough money to ensure future comfort.”

“Give enough money to ensure present perspective.”

“When in doubt, assume the best until proven otherwise.”

“Speak as if your words have power.”

“Take the thing you love most of all, and share it with the World.”
